In Nepal there are hundreds or thousands of youths involved in the business. From the capital’s Tarehotel to the dance bar, the guest house to the furnace, the buspark to the roadway, the business is wide-spread. The location, style of this business is changing but the profession has not changed. Most of the business through intermediaries is now being done with the help of social media (internet) and mobile. The Global Fund’s IBBS (Integrated Biological and Behavioral Surveillance) survey reveals that there are 3,000 male sex workers in Kathmandu. But more than twice as many women are in the business of sex workers, says Jagriti Women’s Federation, an organization working in the field of sex workers.
